My First Guest Post!

Hi, I’m Susi, a writer at a great community for interior designers, home decorators and other design professionals to meet other design lovers, share ideas and projects. I love to visit blogs and see all the amazing DIY transformations and design projects. Design Savvy of New Jersey asked me to write about how to add a modern twist to eclectic décor for my guest post today. Eclectic style is a great way to mix modern and vintage décor in a traditional style home. Here are eight of my favorite rooms that artfully mix eclectic décor with a modern twist. Enjoy!

This gorgeous living room is filled with eclectic modern style. Who doesn't love a classic brown leather chesterfield? It looks right at home with both antique and modern design.

A dark modern sofa anchors this eclectic living room. Traditional swivel occasional chairs are given a modern twist with purple and white ikat fabric. Love the contemporary mirror tables.

Tailored furnishings mix well with contemporary accents in sophisticated eclectic Love the lines of this sofa and the mix of accent pillows that add color to a room that has a very simple palette.

This traditional style room with a beamed ceiling and white fireplace sets the background for an eclectic collection of modern furnishings. A Tulip table can work in almost any décor.

Traditional chairs meet contemporary lighting and accessories in this modern eclectic living room. The bold red color of the antique chair looks great against the bright yellow floor lamp and black and white chevron rug.

A contemporary style four poster bed is so sleek. Love it paired with a Moroccan rug used as a coverlet that adds a global style to this chic bedroom.

Apple green upholstery is unexpected on a traditional roll-arm sofa. Paired with a Swan chair and zebra rug, the sofa feels modern despite its traditional form.

The white painted bamboo chair fits in with the modern décor of this chic bedroom. Love the green, white and brown palette that unifies the furniture and accessories.
