Office Reveal Today!

Today I am sharing a recent office design that is now complete! It was such a fun project to work on and we could not be happier with the results! My initial design plan suggested this soft aqua grass cloth which was initially resisted by my client because it not a color she has been drawn to in the past. But after further discussion and visiting additional options, she agreed to go with the my original suggestion. This is a common series of discussions when working with clients and it is such an enjoyable aspect of interior design.

We started actually with the amazing desk found on One King Lane. We had to snap up the desk before it was sold out and we used it as the basis of the design plan. The plan included the beautiful built-ins, raised paneling and window seat which incorporates functional file drawers and extra storage built and installed by my hubby Adam Briant of Briant General Contracting. After all, this is  an office that needs to be practical but beautiful as well!

Hope you love these after shots as much as we do!

Have a wonderful week and thanks for reading!

Inspiring Geometric Wallpaper!

I hope these beautiful rooms inspire you to put some geometric wallpaper somewhere in your home. It brings a lot of personality even into a smaller area of your home like an entry way, bathroom, laundry room, etc. There are many new lines of what is called "renter wallpaper" easy to to put up and super easy to take down. All you need to do to remove it is pull it off and wipe the wall down with a moist sponge/rag and you are done! Send me a pic if you already have some great wallpaper in your home. Thank you my readers and have a great weekend! For those of you in the northeast like me, keep warm!

Timothey Beasties wall coverings, fabric and much more can be found here. I never said quality and lavish decor would be cheap! You can play around with these wall coverings in a room on their website. I'm thinking an office, accent wall or powder room would be an amazing area for these. You just have to take a minute and see for yourself! Have a great weekend my readers!

Spring Colors for Your Home Series! Green!

"Springtime is the land awakening.

The March winds are the morning yawn."

Is the color green sprouting up in your gardens or in the trees? Spring is one of my favorite seasons and times of the year. Regrowth, warmth and sun enliven the earth and me after the cold long winter we have had. So, I thought it would be most appropriate to highlight the natural and beautiful color GREEN and varying shades of it today!

My Inspiration For Spring!

Accent with Wall Paper!

Wallpaper is a huge commitment and I have to be honest with you all and tell you that not one wall in my home has wall paper on it. I tend to be more conservative in my choices for my home but I do love the color and variety that is out there right now. Wallpaper is back and it is being used by many designers as an accent instead of doing every wall in the room. It is making me reconsider my fears of using it and just maybe I might become brave enough to do it. When I do, you can be sure that I will share with all of you! Do these images below inspire you like they do to me?

Wallpaper Is Back!

Let's face it, wallpaper is a commitment that many of us are afraid of! Many of us have horrible memories of floral patterns decorating our grandmothers house in every room or maybe it was our first house that we had to spend hours upon hours trying to remove it from the walls vowing we would never put up wallpaper again!! Well using wallpaper to decorate a room is back with a vengeance! Yes many designers are choosing an array of patterns, textures and colors. I recently came across a vintage shop in NYC that stocks a variety of vintage wallpapers that I couldn't get enough of! Below are some of my favorite choices. When I look at these papers I immediately think of a small space like a mudroom, home office or a vintage inspired small kitchen or bath! Could you see these samples below above flat panel wainscoting in a mudroom, on an accent wall in the office or maybe in your powder room! These patterns are so much fun and there are many more to choose from. So promise you will at least check out their website Secondhand Rose
and then visit the shop and let me know if you succumb to purchasing some for your home!!
