Decorate in Turquoise!

Maybe your inspiration was that first Tiffany Jewelry box you received or maybe it was that first piece of sea glass you found on the beach................

I just love the color Turquoise and maybe you do also! The color turquoise is a mix of blue and green. Turquoise has a sweet feminine feel while the darker teal shades add lively sophistication. Decorating in turquoise, whether on an accent wall or that throw pillow on a sofa adds a calming affect to any home. I have added to this post some of my favorite interiors that highlight the use of the beautiful color turquoise. Enjoy the photos! A a personal request to all of my readers........Do you have a room with Turquoise in it? Please send me your photograph along with a brief description of why you chose this great color. I would love to share them!

These photographs above have been featured in magazines like Traditional Home.

Kitchen Designer: Melissa Seibold of Canterbury Design, NJ!

I want to share with you the wonderful experience we had renovating our kitchen a few years ago. We always hear the nightmares friends have like the contractor that never came back or the renovation that took six months or more! That was not our experience at all. After looking at magazines galore, I initially thought I wanted french country style glazed kitchen cabinets in our home. My husband Adam Briant, a contractor in New Jersey, who specializes in kitchen and bath renovations and custom woodworking had been working closely with a kitchen design showroom. Melissa Seibold was the senior designer and they had worked together on many kitchen projects through the years. After our meeting together she asked several key questions about the style of our home and what we was looking for. She also spoke to us about coming and going trends that we may want to think about and  she directed us to a custom line of cabinetry, Mouser Custom Cabinetry. She was so helpful and professional and steered us in the exact path we should take. We were not disappointed, we love it! It is a soft taupe/grey colored classic colonial farmhouse kitchen. It fit perfect in our 1849 colonial home. If you are considering renovating your kitchen, please at least make a consultation appointment with her. You may not want to go anywhere else! Here are some of her credentials...

Melissa Seibold knows that by investing time to listen to each client so she can draw from them the characteristics of the kitchen they truly desire. Melissa loves the uniqueness of every project and she embraces every style, knowing that each can address a homeowner’s vision.

With a B.A. in Architecture and Computer Science from Lehigh University, Melissa takes the information she gathers from clients and develops 3D color renderings. Each rendering suggests the materials being used to create the character of the kitchen as well as the layout. She currently is designing with Canterbury Design, NJ.
