Family Room Design!

A beautiful family that live locally contacted me for some help with their family room and I was HAPPY to help! The have a challenging shape to the room and had a few things that needed to be taken into consideration? Do you notice what it may be?

The kitchen has a really nice long bar height counter top with 4 stools that pushes a bit into the family room space. The couple will be replacing the carpet with wood flooring at some point within the next year so they requested to have another carpet to layer on top of the existing one for the time being. Thinking about moving the stools in an out was a consideration with the type of rug selected. I wanted something that would not make that difficult especially as their kiddies get a little older and will want to do it themselves. The angle of the ceiling and soffit also played into the selection as well as a specific budget, another little one is on the way this week! The wall color will also stay the same for now. Designing with these types of parameters is challenging and fun at the same time. The design is coming together in stages so I should be sharing some more photos soon. But here are some of the selections that have been made together them!

Some of these selections are not a definite but we want to bring a pop of color into the room, so lavender or maybe even a tangerine or coral may be the way we go. I will keep you posted! Thanks for reading and have a great Monday!

  1. Love those pillows!

  2. In terms of our home, when we save money we have that amount of extra cash to often do up another place, put towards a holiday as well as to just generally help out with the bills and surprisingly it is actually easier than you may think to save a bit of cash where your discount countertops is anxious, whether it be by means of conserving energy or selecting a well priced upgrade.

  3. oh, I am loving those ikat pillows. and bringing in the color on that tray is perfection. that room is gonna be great. donna
