Client Dining Room Design Board

I have been busy with a couple of clients these past few months and designs are finally coming together. I am sharing below a basic design board for a client that lives in a historical federal colonial. The rooms have great bones with amazing architecture and wood floors. She desired an eclectic feel but had already purchased quite a few pieces of traditional furniture. So I had to incorporate these pieces in the design. For example, she had her dining room table, sofa, chairs etc. So I came up with this board for her dining room. I am loving the results so far but we are far from being being completed. When that happens, hopefully within the next couple of weeks, I will get some great before and after photos to share with you. For now I hope this is enough....

Inspiring Geometric Wallpaper!

I hope these beautiful rooms inspire you to put some geometric wallpaper somewhere in your home. It brings a lot of personality even into a smaller area of your home like an entry way, bathroom, laundry room, etc. There are many new lines of what is called "renter wallpaper" easy to to put up and super easy to take down. All you need to do to remove it is pull it off and wipe the wall down with a moist sponge/rag and you are done! Send me a pic if you already have some great wallpaper in your home. Thank you my readers and have a great weekend! For those of you in the northeast like me, keep warm!

Masculine Design Board!

I love this leather sofa from Lee Industries and I thought I would pull a design board together just for fun! Enjoy and have a great weekend!

A Well Traveled Room!

When we walk into someone's home for the first time, there is a definite impression that settles in our minds. Someone is a neat freak, artistic, disorganized etc. Well, when I saw this room for the first time I thought this person must be well traveled. Perhaps, bringing home with them a collections of goodies from their favorite places. This is such a great room that is warm, interesting and inviting on all levels. Do you feel the same way about this room as I do? Drop me a line, thanks!

Online Price Comparisons!

Warning: If you see some thing online and want to purchase it, make sure you do your research first!

Let me share an example of why I feel so passionate about this. I came across this beautiful bowl that I thought would add a beautiful touch to an entry tablescape I am pulling together for a client.

I just loved the small bowl and if she didn't like i,t I was going to get it for myself. That is one of the dangers of being a decorator ha ha. Anyway, while doing research for something else tonight, I came across not just one but two online boutiques selling the bowl for double and triple the price!! Absurd!

Furbish Studio (may fav) is selling the small one for $48.00

Candelabra Shop for $72.00

And last but most expensive Shop Ten 25, get this $330.00, now it does say bowls but even still this price for 2 bowls!!

The difficulty is each vendor may rename the piece using different wording, so it may be hard to always find other online options.

I guess I just needed to share this with you readers today and vent. Thanks for being supportive of my blog and very soon I will be sharing some recent room makeovers I have been busy working on!

Online Pillow Shopping-My Favorite Shops!

Finding just the right pillow can be overwhelming when the options for fabric are endless. It can be daunting going into a fabric store and seeing all those books and if you are like me, you start to feel like "where do I begin??" You may start with a color or fabric line like Kravet but then there is the couture line and that line and another line and it can be hard to come down to decisions. Then most frabic come with a minimum order of 2/3 yards but maybe you want just one pillow of this fabric and one of another. Well, I wanted to share some amazing online pillow boutique shops that make unbelievable pillows with designer fabrics at a lower cost than if you made them custom. I will share some great pillows from Arianna Belle Shop, Thow & Co. and Amber Interiors.

I Love Everything About These Dining Rooms!

I have dining rooms with green chairs on my mind because of a recent design I have been working on. Choosing the right shade of green is not as easy as you would think. I really want the chairs to have a punch of color but need to keep with a warm undertone. I think these two images capture exactly what I had in mind......
